Amazon Prime already has The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on their roster, and now they’re adding Blade Runner. Ridley Scott, who helmed 1982’s Blade Runner, will executive produce via Scott Free Productions, with Silka Luisa of Shining Girls fame acting as showrunner. Creatives have locked story details about the limited series behind an encrypted hard drive. As the title suggests, Blade Runner 2099 is set 50 years after 2017’s Blade Runner 2049, starring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford. The anticipated project hails from Amazon Studios and Alcon Entertainment. Blade Runner fans are about to blow a circuit because Amazon Prime Video is moving forward with Blade Runner 2099, a limited series sequel based on the iconic science-fiction franchise.
